Continuing education is key to success in the multifamily industry, as regulations and markets frequently change with new laws and changing demands. Oakwood Management Company puts an emphasis on keeping all of its team members knowledgeable, which includes supporting them in the pursuit of different certifications related to their fields. With that in mind, Oakwood is excited to announce that six of our team members recently attained CAPS certification: Jennifer Martin, Christy Smith, Xavier Sanchez, Elizabeth Bancroft, Jamie Marquart, and Cara Cannon.

We are proud to congratulate all of these team members on this accomplishment and their commitment to continued learning. The CAPS certification is facilitated by the National Apartment Association, the industry leader in continuing education for the multifamily market. CAPS stands for Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor. NAA describes this certification as being essential for those seeking to recruit and train team members at their property as well as those who want to learn “how to analyze and report property and portfolio financial results, conduct due diligence and community takeovers and oversee management agreements,” according to their website.

These team members work at a variety of sites in positions ranging from Property Manager to Area and Regional Manager. Jennifer is the Property Manager at Albany Glen, a large and beautiful site in a highly-desirable suburban area. Christy oversees a portfolio of five properties as an Area Manager, including several newly built properties in competitive markets. Xavier is a Regional Manager with fourteen sites around the Central Ohio area under his management and direction. Elizabeth is the Property Manager of the Ravines at Westar, a spacious Westerville property that recently began leasing its second phase. Jamie is the Property Manager of Newbridge Commons, a Columbus property with one to three bedroom apartments. Cara works as an Area Manager over the current lease-up sites the Charles at Riggins Run, River & Rich, and the Pointe at Polaris.

Director of Operations Ken Knox congratulated the team members and further explained, “This outstanding accomplishment is a mark of our team’s unparalleled commitment to excellence, both personally and professionally.
