Oakwood Management Company had its beginnings in 1970 when the Kelley family decided to expand into property management. The company's namesake, Oakwood Avenue, on the south side of Columbus, Ohio, is a nod to a founding board member’s family roots. Oakwood Management currently employs over 250 full and part-time team members in the operation of 13,000+ multifamily units and 323,000+ square feet of commercial space.

The Leadership of John Wymer

The Wymer family played a vital role in Oakwood's history. John Wymer, the starting Vice President and then President, embodied the spirit of hard work and dedication. While in college, he started as a grounds person for the Weiler family, who were part of the founding board members. Ultimately, he played a pivotal role in establishing Oakwood Management Company. Under John's leadership, Oakwood Management Company experienced over 50 years of continuous success and growth.

Continuing the Legacy

When John Wymer retired in late 2021, he left a legacy of excellence. Keith Jones has continued that legacy as President and CEO and is leading Oakwood Management Company to new heights. Bringing over 20 years of progressive executive management experience in the real estate and property management field, Keith is an energetic, results-oriented leader who is guiding Oakwood to stay at the forefront of technology and expand its footprint beyond central Ohio.
