River and Rich Celebrates Grand Opening in Franklinton

  |     |   Oakwood News

River & Rich celebrated its Grand Opening this past weekend. The Oakwood-managed community made its official debut into the Columbus multifamily market during the Urban Living Tour that Columbus Underground hosts annually. The leasing team enjoyed showing off the unique and modern property to visitors who were partaking in the self-guided Urban Living Tour, an exclusive peak at some of Downtown’s best and newest communities.

River & Rich has been welcoming residents to its mixed-use complex since November 2018. The community has 230 residential units ranging from one- and two- bedroom flats to three-story townhome models, all of which contain high-end finishes. In each apartment you’ll find open spaces, anchored by top-of-the-line kitchens with granite countertops and subway tile backsplash. The plank style flooring and modern but neutral color schemes make the apartments the ideal canvas for you to make your artistic mark.

The perks don’t stop at your front door at River & Rich. The community features extensive amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center that rivals that of professional gyms. In the clubhouse, you’ll find an industrial style gathering space, with a pool table, shuffleboard table, and more to share with your neighbors and friends. For those dreamy summer days, River & Rich has a private pool and extensive outdoor patio space, accented by custom-made murals and repurposed items- check out the beams that came from the Columbus Zoo!

River & Rich is part of the growing trend for living spaces to mesh with retail in mixed-use communities; the complex has 30,000 square feet of retail space. The anchor tenant Roy G Biv is an art gallery that has been a part of Columbus for thirty years, relocating to join River & Rich in Franklinton from their old home in the Short North. The gallery is now open, marking the first retail space to debut at River & Rich. Additional forthcoming tenants include One Line Coffee, Citrine Salon, and the Cure sneaker store.

The Franklinton community is known for its arts scene and its tight-knit community, located just across the Scioto River from Downtown Columbus. In developing River & Rich, extensive art by local artists was commissioned and acquired, with eighteen murals lining the front of the buildings and even more featured both inside and outside the walls.

In a press release, Franklinton Arts District President Adam Herman said, “Since day one, River & Rich’s approach to creative community development has been a model of collaboration, partnership, and respect. They have demonstrated through their words and their actions that they are ready and willing to support the community of artists and arts organizations that have made Franklinton one of the most unique neighborhoods in Columbus.”

River & Rich is located at 401 W. Rich St., Columbus, Ohio 43215 and their phone number is 614-228-7277. The community was developed by CASTO, in partnership with the Robert Weiler Company, Kelley Companies, Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, and S2 Construction.
