Community Spotlight: Sonnenblick

  |     |   Community Spotlight, Living in Columbus, Oakwood News

In Columbus, Ohio, there’s no area quite as well-known and well-loved as the Short North and its surrounding neighborhoods, including Victorian Village and Harrison West. It’s hardly surprising that getting a piece of this community can be tricky and expensive. A hidden gem exists, though: Sonnenblick. Renters do not have to compromise between their wants and their needs when they rent at Sonnenblick, a property proudly managed by Oakwood.

The Location. When you think of downtown living, you may think of navigating congested areas and spending hours finding parking, but you should also think of being steps away from the action. Businesses, restaurants, and more flock to revitalized urban areas. Located just north of Columbus’ downtown, the Short North has every type of entertainment underneath its famous arches, from top-notch restaurants to unique art galleries and locally-owned shops. Sonnenblick is far enough away from High Street so that residents are not bothered by the noise of events and traffic, but close enough that they can still walk over to these experiences. The apartments at Sonnenblick put you right by all the action, but in a peaceful setting with reserved parking and spacious apartment homes.

The Perks. Sonnenblick features every amenity you need, in one of the best locations in town. Residents get to enjoy a private pool, a point of pride for the community in an area where pools are hard to find. Resident Services Technician Tony explains why it’s so special, saying “It’s new, heated, and all the furniture is new.” The pool is the perfect place to relax on a summer day! Year-round, residents can meet their personal goals by using the fitness center and recreation room, allowing them to avoid the crowded and expensive gyms in the area.

The Apartments. Sonnenblick has a variety of floorplans ranging from studios to two bedroom townhomes with basements and even three bedroom apartments. The spacious apartments feature modern and neutral finishes, which allow you to craft a unique home that shows off your style. Property Manager Devin elaborated on how the apartments are different from all the nearby options, explaining, “Our recent renovations have allowed us to keep up with the new construction in the area in a very competitive way, however, we beat them consistently on pricing.” Sonnenblick shines as a quality property that’s within reach for many budgets.

The Events. You certainly won’t be bored here! The Short North hosts year-round events and festivals, like the popular Gallery Hop on the first Saturday of every month. When you want to stick a little closer to home, however, you can attend events put on exclusively for the residents of Sonnenblick. Property Manager Devin loves the annual pool party most of all, saying, “Our residents already love our pool so when we give them a big reason to come out to it, they all come.” Events like these give residents the chance to meet their neighbors (and the Oakwood team!) and build connections that can be hard to make in today’s modern society.

The Bonuses. Whether you work a traditional 9-to-5 or have a more flexible schedule, there’s always something going on near Sonnenblick to keep you busy in your time off. Sonnenblick is steps away from Wheeler Dog Park, the perfect place to let your pup run around off-leash, and the 32-acre Goodale Park, one of the prettiest green spaces in Columbus. In this ever-developing part of town, you’ll always find something new to do and more people to meet. Sonnenblick offers a space to build the foundation of your life, right in the heart of it all.

Sonnenblick Apartments is located at 730 Thurber Drive West, Columbus, Ohio 43215 and their phone number is (614)221-5921. Schedule a tour today!
